The World as "I know" it

My goal in this class is to explore my true views on politics, and how that will affect my future. I hope to be more deeply educated on various types of governments and how they influence society. My hope is to find out my true political views, to explore what my heart truly believes, and to find out which political party I may or may not be affiliated with. Am I Republican, or a Democrat? Or at the end of the day, am I an independent? Just because I believe in one thing that the Democrats believe in, doesn't necessarily mean that I'm a Democrat, or does it? If you want to know the truth, I don't feel that I am as educated as I should be in politics. My generation has the power to change the world. It's a great responsibility that should not be taken lightly. In order to take on that responsibility, each and every one of us need to be educated in policies, laws, and the ideas of the parties. It is our responsibility to change politics from the way they work today, to a better tomorrow. The Republican Party has learned in this last election that the political world as they know it, is changing. This is not something that just the Democrats are saying, the Republican Party itself is now aware of this. Our country has now realized that many of us, and possibly the majority of us, care more and more about social issues than the Republican Party previously thought. We do care about healthcare, poverty, and equal rights for all. I have nothing against the Republican Party, and who knows I may be a republican myself, but it is a fact that after the last election, most republicans know that they must change the way they "do business". In the process of this course, I hope to find out where I stand.
